SUPERVISOR:                          Grounds Foreman

SALARY RANGE:                      In accordance with RCBOE Salary Schedules

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:    12 Months

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

Carries out duties as assigned by the grounds foreman, pertaining to grass cutting.  Drives truck and tractor for landscaping purposes.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (Asterisk for essential job duties.)

1. *Cuts grass according to schedule for entire system, keeps Foreman informed of progress.
2.  Carries out duties as assigned.
3. *Drives tractors with heavy duty mowers and bush hogs.
4. *Cleans school yards.
5. *Drives trucks.
6.  Keeps daily work order reports.
7. *Maintains grounds equipment
8. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:

Must be able to drive a truck, tractor and operate machinery for tractor.  Must be able to operate small machinery.  Must have good interpersonal skills and leadership ability.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

High School education or equivalent preferred.  Two years of experience on the job training in grounds work.

CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid state driver’s license (CDL encouraged)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Good physical condition (heavy lifting and climbing)
