JOB QUALIFICATIONS


Education: High School diploma or the equivalent is required.

 

Certification or Licensure: Possession of a current CDL license Class B

 

Skills: General knowledge of basic automotive service. Have the ability to fuel commercial vehicles and identify and report needed repairs.

 

Work Experience: Related experience to include, but not limited to adding engine oil, checking fluid levels: coolant, transmission, power steering, and water. 

 

PRIMARY DUTY

This position is responsible for checking and fueling all buses daily with less than half a tank of fuel and is expected to performs routine inspections of motor vehicles and provide basic maintenance (regular route and spare buses).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Check, record, and fill all fluid levels on regular and spare buses (fuel, oil, coolant, transmission etc.)
  2. Report any interior mal-condition of regular route buses to the Fleet Supervisor and execute seat repairs as needed
  3. Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  4. Process work order sheets in a timely and accurate manner
  5. Sweep and clean the interior of spare buses as needed.
  6. Coordinates with maintenance/shop concerning vehicle repairs
  7. Clean battery cables as necessary
  8. Check the operation of specified equipment, such as windshield wipers, headlights, brake lights.
  9. Verifies any reports concerning equipment difficulties
  10. Report to shop immediately for repairs.
  11. Observe tires and report to shop if/or when the tires are low or flat.
  12. Clean and maintain pump area / pump storage room, and ground area.
  13. Clean ground area immediately after any fluid spill.
  1. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.  

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing. Ability and willingness to work in inclement weather.
