JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree (preferred).

 

Certification or Licensure:  Must possess a valid Georgia teaching certificate or ability to acquire. Graduate work in reading, math or technology AND/OR related endorsements (reading, math, gifted, STEM, online teaching, personalized learning, computer science, teacher support and coaching, teacher leader, coaching) preferred. Reading or Math Endorsement (preferred). Must meet the district’s online learning competency requirement. Teacher Support and Coaching Endorsement or ability to acquire within two years.

 

Skills: Knowledge of RCSS curriculum, techniques for integrating technology into the curriculum, RCSS policies, and effective instructional practices for face to face and virtual instruction. Understanding of the teaching and learning process. Ability to problem solve and work effectively with administrators, teachers and students. Technical proficiency and the ability to learn new technology and online systems quickly. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills. Knowledge of Canvas Learning Management System.

 

Work Experience:  At least five years of successful teaching experience; evidence of student achievement and student progress; strong leadership skills; familiarity with adult learning and online learning; evidence of effective technology use; and data analysis skills.

 

PRIMARY DUTY

 Under the direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning, supports, develops and coaches teachers on increasing content knowledge and skills for effective teaching and learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Demonstrates practical application of research based, learner-centered instructional strategies.

2.     Provides targeted support to new teachers.

3.     Leads vertical and horizontal collaborative planning sessions.

4.     Analyzes instructional practices and data to address specific areas for growth.

5.     Designs and delivers professional development on instructional best practices, standards-based instruction, assessment and other targeted topics.

6.     Develops coaching plans for teachers to ensure student improvement.

7.     Models direct instruction and intervention lessons for teachers and implement problem solving strategies for all content areas.

8.     Attends district level training and redeliver information as appropriate.

9.     Possesses knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online and face to face instruction.

10.  Demonstrates operational knowledge of internet and web-related technologies.

11.  Collect and submit data in a timely manner.

12.  Utilizes a variety of student data including, student work samples, screener data, and other formative and summative data to inform instructional decisions.

13.  Models the use of research based instructional practices.

14.  Assists in the implementation of the School Improvement Plan, Title I Plan and other school or district initiatives.

15.  Assists in the compilation of reports and forms relative to the Title I regulations.

16.  The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit. Travel may be required for this position. 

 

Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by RCSS contract. Some work beyond the school day may be required.
