JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required. Specialist or doctorate degree in a related field preferred.

 

Certification or Licensure: A valid Georgia educator’s certificate is required. Must possess a Georgia Professional Certification in Educational Leadership or be eligible for NPL (must complete a specialist degree performance-based leadership program and obtain PL6 certification within five years).


Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of effective practices in curriculum, instruction, program development, school operations, and pupil services. Ability to work effectively with teachers and other educational colleagues. Ability to motivate, encourage, and work with staff to inspire outstanding performance and positive morale. Demonstrated skills in organization, planning, and decision-making. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to model professional, moral, and ethical standards. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and various integrated applications.


Work Experience: A minimum of three years of successful experience as a classroom teacher, preferably at the same level of the administration to be held is required.

 

PRIMARY DUTY:

This position is responsible for assisting with the management necessary to administer and supervise all instructional programs, policies, and activities of the school to ensure high-quality educational experiences and services for students in a safe and enriching learning environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist in providing educational leadership by establishing a climate conducive to learning, planning, and coordinating effective instructional programs.
2. Implement systematic procedures to assess program effectiveness and compile necessary reports to support findings.
3. Work with the Principal to compile, analyze, and evaluate school and student achievement data to develop and implement the school improvement plan.
4. Work to ensure appropriate programming for all students and initiate a response to intervention referrals and intra-school placement as directed by the Principal.
5. Assist with the implementation of a school discipline plan that contains clear expectations and adheres to the policies and procedures of the school district’s Code of Conduct.
6. Monitor, assist, and evaluate staff implementation of school improvement plans, SACs, SAT, Academic Reform Plans, and effective instructional and assessment practices.

7. Conduct teacher parent-pupil conferences to promote the maximum student achievement for all students through Response to Intervention (RTI), Student Support Teams, and other appropriate interventions.
8. Supervise teaching and learning on a continuous basis for the improvement of classroom instruction and teacher-pupil relationships.
9. Supervise and coordinate the inventory of all instructional materials, textbooks, and equipment.
10. Coordinate and supervise lunch, bus, and hall duty as well as instructional, athletic, and extracurricular activities.
11. Assist the Principal in developing and monitoring the implementation of the master schedule and make recommendations to pupils, teachers, counselors, and parents affecting student scheduling.
12. Evaluate teachers and other support staff according to the school district’s policies and procedures as directed by the Principal.
13.Assume specific responsibilities assigned by the Principal in the recruitment, orientation, placement, supervision, and evaluation of staff.
14.Assist with the identification of professional learning needs and the development and implementation of the school improvement plan to meet those needs.
15. Supervise after-school programs and extracurricular activities as needed.
16. Work with the Principal to establish and maintain relationships with the PTA/PTO, School Council, and other community organizations to ensure ongoing communication and initiate activities that foster productive parent and community involvement.
17.Assist in maintaining a safe and orderly environment by implementing and communicating the emergency procedures Emergency Preparedness Plan to students, teachers, and staff.
18.Foster a school climate that supports both student and staff success and promotes respect and appreciation for all students, teachers, staff, and families.
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
