JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree preferred. Math
Specialist or Math Endorsement required.
Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid Georgia teaching certificate or ability to acquire.
Graduate work in mathematics and/or math endorsement is required.
Skills: Knowledge of RCSS curriculum; knowledge of current research-based practices in mathematics
instruction; Ability to problem solve and work effectively with administrators and teachers. Technical
proficiency and the ability to learn new technology and online systems quickly. Knowledge of Canvas
Learning Management system. Ability to facilitate school-based and district-wide professional learning.
Work Experience: A minimum of five years of successful teaching experience is required. Evidence of
student achievement and student progress; strong leadership skills; familiarity with adult learning and
online learning; evidence of effective technology use.
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for providing instructional support to improve all aspects of the district’s
numeracy program and provides leadership in the implementation of the district’s numeracy program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leads the district numeracy initiatives
2. Models research-based reading instruction for teachers
3. Assists with the selection of mathematics instructional materials
4. Interprets instructional data to monitor, diagnose, and plan mathematics instruction.
5. Collaborates with Instructional Specialists and teachers on the use of assessment data to plan
instruction
6. Analyzes district’s mathematics data and plans for future numeracy needs
7. Possesses knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online and face-to-face
instruction
8. Collect and submit data in a timely manner.
9. Demonstrates operational knowledge of Internet and web-related technologies.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to attend school meetings, programs, and activities
outside the instructional day as mandated by contract. Some work beyond the school day may be
required.
