Education: Associate degree in a related field or equivalent college coursework.
Certification or Licensure: None
Skills: Ability to maintain records, enter data with accuracy, and create reports. Excellent human relations skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and
database applications. Ability to work independently. cooperatively with others and present information to a small group.
Work Experience: Experience in Human Resources preferred.
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for effectively and efficiently participating in the onboarding of new employees by recruiting, screening, and facilitating new hire orientation. Inputs data into the Human Resources and Financial Management System. Conducts initial and upgrade GaPSC requests for certification.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Corresponds with applicants in regard to inquiries concerning employment opportunities; reviews and evaluates applications, transcripts, references, and other credentials in regard to initial employment.
2. Conduct screening and queries from Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to assist in locating quality
applicants for employment.
3. Prepares on-boarding documents for new hires and facilitates new hire orientation for new employees.
4. Creates personnel files for all new hires.
5. Initiates GCIC and fingerprinting requests to the designated employee as part of the new hire
approval process.
6. Prepares and distributes necessary documents to departments.
7. Uploads new hire documents to payroll and tracks new hire data on a shared spreadsheet.
8. Uploads and monitors new hire and upgrade certification requests in the GaPSC portal and communicates issues with the coordinator.
9. Input data into the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to include pay screens for processing new hires, tax information, certification, location changes, and position changes.
10. Assists with recruitment when possible.
11. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook, as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
