JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Certification or Licensure: None is required
Skills: Working knowledge of business English and spelling. Working knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment is essential. Ability to enter data with accuracy and efficiency. Good oral and written communication skills. Excellent human relations skills. Requires skill in using word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. Ability to type 65 wpm; knowledge of the English language (including spelling and Structure); ability to compose and correct letters; knowledge of formats of various types of reports; Ability to take dictation, helpful, and the ability to work and communicate effectively with others.
Work Experience: General secretarial training and/or experience. Computer knowledge is required.
PRIMARY DUTY:
This position is responsible for handling all administrative duties related to the Human Resources office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Receive visitors, make appointments, and maintain a daily calendar of appointments and meetings for the coordinator.
2. Maintain a daily log of all new certified and classified employees.
3. Facilitate New Hire Orientation & prepare a personnel file on all new certified, and classified applicants.
4. Apply for and maintain records of all recommendations coming in for teaching applicants; file in the application.
5. Assist all new certified and classified employees in completing required paperwork for employment and schedule appointments for completion of this work.
6. Prepare and distribute completed paperwork to all departments:
? Automatic bank deposit
? Certification papers
? Insurance
? Permanent Record Cards
? Personnel Data
? Retirement
? Security Questionnaire
? Staff Development
? Assessment Information
? Verification of Employment
? Tax withholding forms
7. Prepare recruitment materials and keep recruitment bag updated
8. Prepare requisitions for lodging
9. Prepare application packets for applicants being hired
10. Prepare the Superintendent’s recommendation list
11. Input data into the Human Resources and Financial Management System as necessary for processing New Hires, Federal and State Tax information, RCSS Substitutes, ect.
12. Prepare reports and related processes as needed, including but not limited to earning statements and tax exempt forms.
13. Organize, coordinate, and order supplies to ensure appropriate levels for proper departmental functioning.
14. Lunch and/or Afternoon Switchboard rotation.
15. Assists with Teacher of the Year and Retirement Banquets
16. The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not, as are assigned or required by such employee’s supervisor, other appropriate school personnel, law board policy administrative regulation, department handbook,as are reasonably necessary to the efficient operation of the school system and its mission.
